Feather your Nest Furniture Class
This class is Tuesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21. 1:00pm-4:30pm
The following are registered:
Kaylee Meyer
Sarah Antes
Jordan Shanks
Allison Meade
Courtney Carlson
Sam Hoppe
If you don't have your furniture piece by now please start thinking about it. It should be smallish in nature- for example a wooden chair or side table. If you have any questions please call me at 269-3882. In preparation for this class you will need to go to the paint store or Do it Best or Syracuse Lumber and get 5 color swatches-these will be the colors you will use on your piece of furniture. Soooo before you come you must have the colors picked out and where you will use this piece once it is restored. You will also need to bring foam brushes to put on the primer and base coats- you can get these at the local hardware store. I will supply the primer, paint and sand paper.
Let these photos inspire you...for your project!

Suggestions to make your projects fair ready
Some of you are taking your projects to the county fair. Please remember to fill out the description part of the fair tag that we gave you. You may also want to add a short narrative about your pieces. 1. Tell why you picked the colors or design your used- was it to match something in your room 2. For the magnetic board-explain that 6 coats of magnetic primer were applied to the base board before you started the project. 3. Tell the judges how you will use your creation. 4. Add a plate stand to the glass plate class. More suggestions let me know & I will post them! Thanks again!

Magnetic Magic Fun
MM class was super fun! The "lil" chicks did as fab as the "hip" chicks (my name for the older gals)! I am posting some pix but totally forgot to snap some of the creations on Tuesday so if you would please email me some pix of your project so I can add it to the blog. You all did a great job on a very difficult project. I set the bar rather high but everyone rose to the occasion and we should be seeing "purple" at the fair this year!
A few things:
1. DO NOT CARRY the board by the ribbon/yarn hanger. Carry flat.
2. If the magnets aren't holding...let me know & we will put on some hi-powered magnets before the fair.
3. Before the fair---hint: do it now! Make sure all your edging materials are glued down to the edges. Use any glue that dries clear. i.e. tacky glue, elmers, mod podge...Come to the shop if you don't have any....we will help you out!
4. If your glass bubbles are cloudy and sticky from the glue- just wipe them off with a damp cloth.
Again- Renee', Carrie and I have a great day with you creative chicks! Thanks and good luck at the fair.
